Michael Porter of Harvard Business School today received the Thinkers50 Lifetime Achievement Award for his stellar contribution to management thinking over the last four decades.
The award was made after Professor Porter delivered the inaugural European Business Lecture at the Thinkers50 European Business Forum held this week in the Danish city of Odense, the headquarters of Thinkers50 Europe.
Presenting the award, Thinkers50’s Des Dearlove noted that the award recognized not just lifelong accomplishments, but continuing contributions to management thinking. Professor Porter’s lecture in Odense proved the ongoing importance of his ideas and his work.
Receiving the award, Porter said, “What you treasure in life is being recognized by your peers. This award is such a recognition, and one I am delighted to receive.”
